Overview
The surrounding crystal clear turquoise Ocean of Mataking offers a chance for sensational underwater exploration. Gear up and explore 30+ dive sites around the isle; including the nearby Pandanan, Timba-Timba, Bohayan, Kalapuan, Baturua, and Mantabuan islands, as well as Tun Sakaran Marina Park of Bohey Dulang. Various sea animals, vibrant reefs, and gorgeous fishes enriched the rugger natural marine life beneath Mataking's surrounding Ocean. Prepare to encounter some rarity; from charming species of shrimps, pygmy seahorses, enormous barracuda, ribbon eel, to 'Orang Utan' crab which can be occasionally spotted lurking calmly around the depth. With strategic location away from the bustle of city vibe, Mataking's surrounding dive sites are truly matchless in novelty and beauty. From the Mataking Besar Island where the resort is conveniently tucked, or the smallest, uninhabited Mataking Kecil islet, the underwater playground is rich with life, vibrant and definitely worthwhile to explore. Just on the Southern side of Besar's, a place aptly named Garden of Eden offers a sight of gorgeous soft corals, anemones and featherstars, while D'Wall dive site of Mataking Kecil offers a chance for memorable drift dives; containing some of the island's most colorful fishes and marine life. Those are just two of many mores to go! Our driving instructors are certified OWSI (Open-Water Scuba Instructor) by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors); and qualified to host you with several fascinating activities, from discover scuba diving for 2 hours to engaging ‘bubble maker’ program for children. They are fluent in Malay, Chinese, and English as well, so don’t hesitate to bring a non-English speaker and enjoy the immaculate underwater scenery around Mataking!

Diving Package includes
- 3 boat dive combinations per day (except for arrival & departure day) at Mataking, Mataking Kecil, and the neighboring islands mentioned above with provision of diving weights, weight belt, tanks and dive guide. Unused portion of the dives is not refundable and not transferable.
Boat Dives
- Schedule: First boat dive 0830am , Second boat dive 1100am & Third boat dive 1500pm
Morning Shore Dive
- Begins at 0600am (require to exit the water by 0700am) and Sunset shore dive begins at 1700pm.
- Unlimited shore buddy dives at mataking house reef without dive guide.
Night Dives
- Are shore dives from the Dive Centre platform and to be conducted from 1900 hrs to 2100 hrs. Divers who wish to night dive must show proof of minimum certification of Advance Open Water in the forms of certification cards and/or log books documenting such dives.

Terms & Conditions
- Above rates apply for a minimum 2 persons and thereafter based on twin/triple/quadruple sharing basis. ONE (1) room must occupy a minimum TWO (2) paying adults, all children are required to share and occupy the same room with parents/adults.
- If a room consists of only ONE (1A) Adult and TWO (2C) Children, the room charges shall be quoted according to TWO (2A) Adults’ and ONE (1C) Child prices.
- NO combination of packages is allowed under the same person (e.g. 2 nights of diver package plus 1 night of non-diver package or etc.).
- Applicable to all room types, both adults and children.
- Non-Diver Package CANNOT be converted to Diver Package (or either way) on check-in day or once the guest has arrived at the island.
- For guest booked under Diver Package, any give-up dive or unutilized dive during stay period is non-refundable / non-transferable.
- Guests (non-diver stay package) with a certified dive license who wish to go for any diving activities will be charged at RM 100.00 per certified diver per dive regardless of check dive, boat dives, shore dives or Sipadan dives – NOT including dive equipment rental. Upon arrival, the guest will be charged RM 100.00 per 2 | P a g e pax for the first orientation/check dive. Every divers will need to carry out a check dive with our resident Divemaster at first before proceeding to the regular dives.
- Diver packages are subjected to our diving schedules and regulations as set by the dive center.
- Any child who is a certified diver shall have to pay full diver rates (adult price) regardless of their age and parents are to be held responsible for their child at all times.
- Single Traveler (Malaysian): Additional 50% surcharge on top of the above package rates for single occupancy applies in a twin sharing room. In any event if there are no other guests to meet the minimum requirement for the land and boat transfers, there will be an additional of RM 250.00 nett per coach way (land transfer) and RM 918.00 nett per boat way (boat transfer).
- Reservation can be made by email (sales@mataking.com) to our Tawau Sales Office (Headquarters Office).
- 30% Deposit / Reservation Fee (non-refundable package fee + jetty fee) has to be paid once an official booking has been confirmed within 7 days.
- The balance or full payment (package fee + jetty fee) must be settled at least 30 days prior to the check-in date. Otherwise, the reservation is subjected to automatic cancellation and will be made available for resale.
- Equipment rental is NOT included in any of the Diver / Non Diver packages. Rental of a full set of dive equipment is at RM 85.00 per certified diver per day and a full set of snorkeling equipment is at RM 30.00 per person per day. Single dive gear is available to be rented and paid in resort upon check-out. Limited sets and subject to availability. *Please refer to Appendix 3 (Dive Centre Price List)
- Upon arrival, guests are required to sign an AFFIRMATION AND LIABILITY RELEASE form for the benefits of all parties.
- Pregnant guests are required to sign a PREGNANCY AFFIRMATION AND LIABILITY RELEASE form before check-in with official medical letter advice from the doctor. Booking for women who are below 3 months / 21 weeks and more than 7 months / 28 weeks pregnant are not acceptable.
- All types of activities being offered by the company on the island, especially dive activities / Sipadan trip / island hopping trips, are subjected to weather conditions / poor visibility and also the diver's own physical status (e.g.: injuries, intoxication, hangovers, etc). Therefore, we reserve the final decision and rights to either proceed or abort any activities / dives for any safety reason.
Payment & Cancellation
- In the event of cancellation, the following cancellation shall applies: Booking confirmation date to 30 days before actual check-in date - 30% of the trip's full price forfeited.
- 29 days to 15 days before actual check-in date – 50% of the trip’s full price forfeited.
- 14 days to 01 day before actual check-in date – 70% of the trip’s full price forfeited.
- NO SHOW of customer on actual check-in date - 100% of the trip's full price forfeited.
